I found this Mk II an interesting example it is as stated a 1941 dated C.L,/C. steel lot batch code 31, it is sporting a 41 dated VMC liner in a size 7 1/8 and looks to have been well used the letters R P are painted in red over black  with a large red band surrounding the helmet body and both have been applied in a thick multi layered paint the lettering and the band are consistent to period images of Canadian War time Regimental and or Military Police. There was some discussion with @Bil4338 and I on a different venue that the black field behind the R P letters may very well be a dark blue and the paint has oxidized with the passing of time changing the hue which would be consistent with other MP type insignias seen on other MP and RP Mk.II's.

Regards Mark
