Identification of this 1939 Iron Cross please

If anyone could share any information about this iron cross I'd appreciate it.

The 1939 seems strangely thin to me. 

It has 'L/17' engraved on the pin - is that a maker's mark?

For me a single piece, printers lead copy from about the 70s. One of the first copies I bought as a kid.

I have to agree, there are a lot of parts that do not look right and Rich is right it is from the 70s, lead copy type

printers lead is hard and not mailable/bendy, so back then caught a lot of kids out! Obviously without reference to the dodgy catch arrangement and the fact it was single piece stamped.
