Guys can anyone provide me with any photographic evidence of any British officers carrying a C96 during WW1 ?.I am aware of use during the Boer war and others but apart from the usual formal, posing 'captured items / souvenirs' photographs can anyone provide me with this ?.

If you can find any photos of Lawrence of Arabia, he carried one for a while,, they were extremely popular with British officers when they were first produced, and were sent to the Westley Richards company in the UK for retail at that time but as WW1 emerged their popularity diminished

The reason I am asking is that I am working on completing a mannequin as a british officer on the western front circa 1917 and wondered about slinging the c96 on the Sam Browne set, otherwise I am going to complete it as closely resembling Churchill as I can,French lid and all ;).

I think that even without photographic evidence it wouldn't be too far from the truth!
