Afrikakorpsrat64 Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 I got this in trade from a friend, WW1 british helmet, still has a nice paint job on it and most of the liner, but sadly the strap is gone. Does anyone have a clue as to the markings on it? appears to be some sort of black wash symbols. 1
Desert Rat Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 Hello Tony, Lovely helmet, not sure at all about the markings, but could it be from the Western Desert 8th Army??? Best to you....Ian 1

Thanks...Ian No, Black wash referring to the "watered down" black ink/paint used to make the symbols on the helmet. 😉 7 minutes ago, Desert Rat said: I need to go to Spec Savers UK......Now I see what you mean..the markings are a black wash........aaaaaargggggh, give me a good kick in the bum! 😂 1
