ksavv Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 I’ve come across this unusual item. It was in a job lot of WWII helmets and other artefacts and I have no idea what it could be. Been doing hours of research but couldn’t find anything even remotely similar. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! 1
Desert Rat Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Hello, Well I am not sure at all, does it have any markings/ stamps on on it to give you any indication? etc It could be a WW1 face protection item, but it looks like medieval?
ksavv Posted July 5, 2018 Author Posted July 5, 2018 Absolutely no markings or stamps. I personally was thinking it's WWI as well. It looks similar to this. 1
Desert Rat Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Hello, Looks like I am wrong as it could well be be a prototype of an early WW1 British face protection for machine gunner crews or artillery crews....Great buy if it is?....Well Done Best to you...Desert Rat 1
Davejb Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Well it does say that the one shown was an early prototype, I would think this is just another form of face protection from WW1 1 1
