Mark K Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Hard to find 1st variation USMC lightweight helmet as produced by Gentex with matching early Marpat reversible camo cover... This particular example was produced in December of 2004 these were first issued with a very complicated suspension/harness,sweatband and multi adjustable chinstrap system... In accordance with MARADMIN 480/06 dated October 5 2006 all helmets in this configuration were to be retro fitted with a new Headband/Crown pad Suspension up-grade which makes these hard to find in this early un-altered state .These weigh in at approx 51.7 Oz the standard PASGT helmet in a comparable large size weighs in at 58.0 Oz...This helmet came out-fitted with a Norotos Rhino NVG and mount.. Desert Rat Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 At last and many thanks, Far from the WW1 & WW2 helmets which we seem to see everyday, it is good to see the modern and brilliant design in the last say 60 years. This gives us a modern perspective of how modern helmets are lighter and more protective than the old World War helmets. Best to you and Many Thanks for the images.....Desert Rat/ Ian 1
