Hiya, As I said in a prvious post...a couple of pics of a great boot sale purchase...a Poole made, 1947 Dated Mk 5 Jungle Carbine bayonet, still with paint, and in an unsharpened state...:)

Nice one, I had two of these, one that I was given , the other was My uncles that he used in Burma, with his Mk 5, He hated the Mk 5,it was inaccurate, had a kick like a mule and for it to be affective you had to be pretty close , which did,nt help when the buggers were nearly on top of you. When he passed away I gave it to his Grandson and the little sod went and sold it the next day, I wish I had,nt bothered

Thanks for showing us this Bayonet...But more so to Dave who's Uncle was in Burma, what a Hellhole of a place to fight, endure and try and beat the enemy, I am sure without question you are very proud of him as a young man in the bloody jungle fighting for his life!

I, hope he came home to his family?
