val Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Unfortunately batteries are the thing that don't survive over a long time very well - they contain either acid or alkaline - aggressive substances that destroy the battery housing. Exception are the batteries that are in plastic housing. So even nice images of the original batteries are sometimes very rare! Here is seen radio battery 4,8NC10 is converted into the portable lamp, seems like a war time field modification. However those images shows nicely the battery itself - 4 cells in series. Nickel-cadmium one cell is 1.2 volt, so four of them in series makes exactly 4.8 volt. Any guess why they rewired them? For Bodenständig FeldFu's? Previous bunker dug out battery shows just such a configuration, as this radiomuseum.org image:
