MG 08/15 tool box, quite unusual!

Guys,

popped ot to the market today as the wife ordered!

I found this box which looked unusual in set up and a quick search indicates a tool box for above machine gun.

Looks like some one used it as a tool box or such like?

I was thinking it could be stripped back to its original colour?

Well we are on reduced hours now and I will crack the garden first as it will not stop growing just because of Corona! If I have more time free I will do the attic and this sort of progect that can be fueled with beer!
