Original Pickelhaube cover?

Hello,

   I’m new to this forum. I recently acquired a Pickelhaube to use for parts on a helmet already in my collection.  This piece was offered with a cover that I found suspect and negotiated a price thinking it was a reproduction. The helmet is original with original cockades and chinstrap. There is very little information online and reference books are very expensive so I was hoping to get some information here. The cover has no markings and has been slit on both sides to accommodate a chinstrap.

very difficult could be an original field made piece or it could have been made last week? With these sort of things it is a matter of faith? I don't do faith when buying? Have you tried GMIC, they have more WW1 types on there? Let us know what they think.

Thank you for replying. I’ll try GMIC. I’m looking to sell the helmet with the cover if it’s authentic. I did send these photos to a friend that does professional helmet restorations, he had the same response and suggested this forum.
