Pickelhauben stamp and makers mark

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I recently acquired a very nice helmet for my collection. I was able to identify the Issue stamps through the Kaiser’s Bunker sight. There is an additional stamp and makers mark that I’m having trouble with.

F.R. 37 1905 Fusilier Regiment

2.B. 1914 reissued to 2nd battalion in 1914?

The confusing bit is the makers mark appears to be in French, I may be wrong,

and 6.C.I is stamped on the opposite side of the issue stamps.

I have included photos and would appreciate any help.

The bottom of the maker mark states Berlin W, so it might have been a brand/firm name of a Frenchman/French owned business working from Berlin?

Once again, agree with @Richard Auld. Very nice Regt marked helmet by the way.
