This badge is on the side of an ACC ww2 vets no1 dress, its a total mistery, can anyone ID it??? grey cloth backing and bullion wire

Looking at the badge under magnification, it appears to be a Queens crown, which would make it post war, also I have asked a pal of mine who was in 3 Para, and he,s never seen one like it, and he has researched the history of the Regiment along with the various insignias worn in war time and later, but he says it could be a variation, but he also says its a Queens crown
