Need Help Learning More about a German Lapel Pin

Hey everyone, I was given this lapel pin by a relative about 45 years ago. Have no idea where he got it from but he was too young to fight in WWII. I always assumed he got it from someone who brought it back to Canada from the war. I showed it to a militaria buyer and seller at an antique show yesterday. He suggested that it might be a British repro from the 70's. I've a attached a few photos for your perusal. On the back side it says 72 on one wing and there's a circle and RMZ on the other wing (see photo of my terrible artwork). I'm very interested in finding out more about this artifact.
