Here's my latest lid, a nice front seam M1, repainted by the French airborne forces post war.

a nice stencilled para insignia to the front.been after one of these for years and then the opportunity presented itself!

What's the chinstrap Bill  ,it looks like the cross straps off a US M1928 haversack.

Dunno, they look French rigger-made to me, rather like the purpose-made US gear of WW2.could be from an ex-US webbing item sure enough.the French were given tons of former US webbing after WW2 so that definitely fits.
