French Helmet,to restore or not restore ?

This turned up today,to be honest forgotten I had even bought it last week ,now is it worth restoring or better left as is for the relic side of the display  ?.

What do you guys think ?

I would leave it alone, its an honest representation of a Wartime helmet and to be honest your pretty lucky its still got a badge on it, You would have trouble finding a liner anyway. Let people see what happens to a real helmet thats been around for a long time, its also in pretty good nick believe it or not

Yep, Agree, after what i've been told by guys with knowledge, , I'm now of the thought that leaving as is, is the way to go...;) You can buy a repro liner off Evilbay, but they are quite expensive...:) 

If not, do what this WW1 soldier did to an old hat...:)

 

BUT, for me, the hat looks fantastic as is...:)

The picture comes from a screen grab of a CBS series entitled WW1 The Full History, a 10 programme series of shows...fantastic stuff too...:)
