Here's my latest acquisition, as described above.it appears to have received several layers of paint over the years, and a more modern and simpler chinstrap than the double Y sprung types it originally had...these were prone to fraying and breaking with use and aren't commonly found.

Very Nice Item Bill.....Great for your collection.....I havent seen one like this before?

Thats a pretty rare helmet Bil, I,ve only seen one other at I think Bedford Arms fair, quite a few years ago, but it was described wrongly as a Finnish helmet.Yours is a nice example, congrats

Cheers folks...yep, only ever seen one in the flesh, around 25 yrs ago, and uncommon then too.a pity it has a replaced chinstrap, but beggars cant be choosers!
